control of the sale of all intoxicating liquors where not inconsistent with the <br />provisions of the Liquor Control Law). The new bill simply amends current <br />ordinances to track the Liquor Control Law and adds other provisions currently in <br />the Liquor Control Law, thereby authorizing prosecution in University City <br />Municipal Court as an alternative to State prosecution in St. Louis County <br />Circuit Court for violations. Due to limited resources, the St. Louis County <br />Prosecuting Attorney's office is selective about which cases it will prosecute, <br />especially misdemeanors, so if it refuses a case and there is no applicable <br />ordinance. There is no prosecution. It is Mr. Mulligan’s understanding that the <br />Missouri Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Community Trials Grant received by <br />the Police Department requires, among other things, that the Police Department <br />advocate for the adoption of one new local policy or improvement in at least one <br />existing local policy related to underage drinking. This ordinance would comply <br />with the intent of the grant. <br /> <br />liquor license <br />Councilmember Brot had requested the study session regarding <br />applications. During construction, motorists are advised to <br />consider alternate routes, flex their working hours, carpool, and ride MetroLink or <br />Metro bus. <br /> <br />Home Improvement Day <br />The City of University City announces its third primarily <br />for seniors and disabled homeowners. University City High School student <br />volunteers will provide yard work, cleaning services, painting, and other small <br />scale beautification improvements. Up to four residents will be selected to <br />receive assistance. The projects must be a one-day which can be scheduled for <br />Friday, April 13.
