SESSION 1495 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY ul'l~ OOUNCIL <br /> <br /> May 15, 1989 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City O0uncil of University City held in the Ass~ <br />bly Roc~ of city Hall on Monday, May 15, 1989, Mayor Janet Majerus presided <br />and called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the <br />following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Byron R. Price <br />Mr. Joseph L. A~.~, Jr. <br />Mr. Robert G. Wagner* <br />Mrs. Mary V. Schu~an <br />Mr. Paul E. Schocmer <br />Mrs. Betty L. ~,~son <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />Mr. Adams moved approval of the May 1, 1989 Council minutes as submitted. Mr. <br />Price seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. Sch~an moved, that Mrs. Maryam Payvar, 8333 Gannon, be appointed to the <br />Traffic C~,mJssion for an unexpired term ending January 21, 1991. Mr. Price <br />seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />*Mr. Wagner arrived at this time (7:34 p.m.). <br /> <br />OATHS OF O~'~'4CE <br /> <br />Mr. D~rrell L. Collins, recently appointed to the C~Lmdssion on Human Rela- <br />tions, and Mr. Booker T. Washington, recently reappointed to the Plan C~,~s- <br />sion, were given the oath of office by the City Clerk. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus said the Council and City were 9z~beful to Mr. Collins and Mr. <br />Washington for being willing to serve the city in this w~y, and that the Coun- <br />cil depended heavily on reconfirmations received frcmt the boards and <br />sions. <br /> <br />CONSENT~(TWOrr~MS) <br /> <br />University Place Street Names (#1). It was rer~ -~ended that Council approve <br />the names Morehouse Avenue and Alcorn Avenue for the two new streets in Uni- <br />versity Place Subdivision. <br /> <br />Shelter Buildinq (#2). Six vendors were asked to bid on a shelter building at <br />Heman Park, including either a) installation including the cor~truction of a <br /> <br /> <br />
