Session 1813 <br />June 4, 2001 <br /> <br />SO AS TO ADOPT THE INTERNATIONAL CODE COUNCIL INTERNATIONAL <br />PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE, FIRST EDITION, 2000, WITH CERTAIN <br />AMENDMENTS; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its first reading and assigned bill number 8535. <br /> <br />Responding to Mr. Munkel's question about search warrants, Mr. Ollendorff said that he <br />would have to inquire for him and get back with him. He believes that it is the same <br />language, not sure. Responding further to Mr. Munkel, Mr. Ollendorff said that we <br />would always have to abide by the terms of the warrant. Mr. Ollendodf said that the <br />force utilized would depend on the parameters of the warrant. He really can't be more <br />specific, since it is hard to provide a blanket answer for all search warrants. <br /> <br />3. A bill was introduced by Mr, Schoomer, entitled: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 15.04 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE BUILDING CODE, AND ENACTING IN LIEU <br />THEREOF A NEW CHAPTER TO BE KNOWN AS "CHAPTER 15.04 BUILDING <br />CODE," SO AS TO ADOPT THE-' BOCA NATIONAL BUILDING CODE, FOURTEENTH <br />EDITION, 1999; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel said that the major building codes in the country have been moving together <br />to establish common requirements and this code accomplishes this for the first time. <br />He is very pleased to see this happen and that the city staff has adopted it as the <br />standard in University City. <br /> <br />The bill was given its first reading and assigned bill number 8536. <br /> <br />4. A bill was introduced by Ms. Colquitt, entitled: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO CITY OFFICIALS <br />AND EMPLOYEES AS ENUMERATED HEREIN FROM AND AFTER JUNE 20, 2001, <br />AND REPEALING ORDINANCE! NO. 6254. <br /> <br />The bill was given its first reading and assigned bill number 8537. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff said that Ms. Colquitt was interested in the starting pay for the people <br />working in the summer playground programs. The pay currently is $5.15 per hour; this <br />bill increases this to $5.50 for July 1st and then to $6.00 next May. It is actually <br />adopting this year's increase and one for next year.
