Session 1813 <br />June 4, 2001 <br /> <br />#5 - 2001-2002 Annual Order - Police Uniforms: Bids for furnishing police uniforms for <br />the 2001-2002 fiscal year have been received. Invitations to Bid were sent to five <br />possible sources with the following response: <br /> <br />Leon Uniform ................ $32,901.50 <br /> <br />Leon Uniform has provided competitive bids and provided the services for the Police <br />Department for the last five years. The bid price increased less than 4% from the <br />previous year's bid price of $31,642. Mr. Ollendorff recommends awarding the contract <br />to Leon Uniform for their bid of $32,901.50. <br /> <br />#6 - Refuse Containers: Request for Quotes were issued to five vendors. $12,817.80 <br />was budgeted for this purchase. The following responses were received: <br /> <br />Downing Sales ................. $ 9,500.00 (4 No bids) <br />Rehrig Sales ................... $ 9,800.00 (3 No bids) <br />Toter, Inc ....................... $11,539.00 <br /> <br />Toter, Inc. was the only vendor which bid on all the items requested and was Iow on all <br />items. Mr. Ollendorff recommends the bid be awarded to Toter, Inc, <br /> <br />#7- Settinq Public Hearinq for Transfer of Cable Television Franchise: Mr. Ollendorff <br />recommends setting a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. on June 25, 2001 in these Council <br />Chambers as the time and place for a public hearing on a request to transfer the cable <br />television agreement from AT&T Broadband to Charter Communications. The request <br />was received by the City on February 21,2001, and must be acted upon within 120 <br />days. If Council chooses not to act on the request within 120 days, under federal law <br />consent will be deemed granted. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the amended consent calendar. Ms. Colquitt seconded <br />the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA #2 - PUBLIC HEARING - PICKUP TRUCK PARKING: <br /> <br />The City Council has set 7:30 p.m. this date and place for a public opportunity to <br />comment on the proposed ordinance amendment which would allow standard pickup <br />truck parking on residential streets for a one-time $25.00 inspection fee. Currently no <br />truck may be parked from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on any City street unless granted a <br />hardship permit due to lack of off street parking. Under the proposed rules the pickup <br />truck must be less than 6,000 lbs. gross vehicle weight, owned by a legal resident, <br />exhibit no commercial lettering and carry no commercial tools or property.
