Session 1826 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />November 23, 2001 <br /> <br />At a special session of the City Council of University City held in the 2nd floor <br />conference room 6 of City Hall on Friday, November 23, 2001, Mayor Joseph L. Adams <br />called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. The meeting was posted in accordance with all <br />of the statutes of the state of Missouri. In addition to the Mayor the following members <br />of the Council were present. <br /> <br />Mr. Wayne I. Munkel <br />Mr. Robert Wagner <br />Mr. Larry Lieberman <br />Mr. Paul Schoomer <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br />Ms. Cassandra Colquitt <br /> <br />Also present was Assistant City Manager Julie Szymula <br /> <br />There was a motion made by Councilmember Schoomer, seconded by Councilmember <br />Munkel to appoint Julie Szymula as City Clerk Pro Tem. The motion passed unopposed. <br /> <br />AGENDA #1 - SOLICITATION REOUEST: <br /> <br />There was a motion made by Councilmember Schoomer to accept the Solicitor's permit <br />put forward by MoPIRG, Councilmember Sharpe seconded the motion and it passed 6 to <br />1 Councilmember Lieberman voting against. <br /> <br />CITY CLERK'S DOCKET: <br /> <br />Councilmember Sharpe introduced a bill, entitled: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A FINAL SUBDIVISION PLAT OF A <br />TRACT OF LAND TO BE KNOWN AS SLAVIN'S SUBDIVISION AND <br />LOCATED AT 312 GAY AND 8050 LAFON. <br /> <br />The bill was given its first reading and assigned # 8569. <br /> <br />The floor was then opened up to the public. <br /> <br />Joan Botwinick of 511 Westview Drive stated that she didn't understand why the Council <br />was required to rubber stamp the opinion of the Planning and Zoning Board. And she <br />wanted to know if the vote of Council could be overturned. <br /> <br />Nancy Sachar of 8044 Lafon stated that the three closest neighbors to the resubdivision <br />were present and that none of them are in favor. Ms. Sacher requested a copy of the City <br /> <br /> <br />
