Session 1824 <br />November 5, 2001 <br /> <br />AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR: <br /> <br />#1 - Tree Removal and Planting of 25 Trees for Parks and Streets: Bids for subject <br />requirement have been received. Bids were sent to five companies with the following <br />results: <br /> <br />Ray's Tree Service ........................................................... $30,000.00 <br />Omni Tree Service ........................................................... $28,600.00 <br />T & L Tree Service ........................................................... $26,900.00 <br />Custom Tree & Lawn Service .......................................... $31,610.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommends awarding this project to T & L Tree Service for their Iow bid <br />of $26,900.00. <br /> <br />#2 - Materials Testing for Walton Bridge Project: The Public Works department <br />reviewed the qualifications of three firms to provide geotechnical services during the <br />construction of the Walton Railroad Bridge. We find the best suited for this work to be <br />Geotechnology Inc. with an estimated cost of $20,515.00 and recommend acceptance <br />of this proposal by the City Council. The company would check all of the materials and <br />installation with the cost eligible for 80% federal reimbursement. The grant budget for <br />this work is $20,000. Actual payment will be in accordance with the fee schedule which <br />will be made a part of the contract for services. <br /> <br />#3 - Picnic Beer & Wine License - 524 Trinity: The City Council may approve a picnic <br />license for the American Civil Liberties Union to sell beer and wine on December 15, <br />2001 at COCA, 524 Trinity. All requirements of the City ordinances appear to be met by <br />this applicant. There have been no law violations during similar events at this location. <br /> <br />#4- Setting Rezoning Public Hearing- 1100 81st Street: Mr. Ollendorff recommends <br />setting 7:30 p.m. November 19 as the date and time for a public hearing in these <br />Council Chambers on the proposal to rezone this 2.23 acre vacant lot from Single <br />Family Residential to Limited Residential, thereby allowing the construction of two- <br />family dwelling units in addition to all that is permitted in the current zoning. Plan <br />Commission and staff recomrnend in favor. <br /> <br />#5 - Picnic Beer License - Heman Community Center: The City Council may approve a <br />license for the Partners Social Club to sell beer at a party for which they are renting the <br />Heman Park Community Center. Similar events have been held at this location in the <br />past without negative consequences. This is not a group with which we are familiar, <br />however, we have no reason to assume that they will not conduct this event in a <br />responsible manner. All ordinance requirements appear to have been met. <br /> <br />#6 - Sewer Repair Bid - 6705 Corbitt: Bids have been received for repair of a private <br />sewer lateral as follows: <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
