Session 1816 <br />July 16, 2001 <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR: <br /> <br />#1 - Street and AIley Special,Assessment Rates: Each year the City Council <br />establishes the cost to be assessed against adjacent property for improvement of <br />unpaved streets and alleys. Mr. Ollendorff recommends establishing the assessment <br />rate of $25.20 for abutting alley footage and $44.50 for abutting street footage. These <br />rates are based on bids received for recent construction projects. There are no petitions <br />pending for such improvements. <br /> <br />#2 - University City Special Business District 2001-2002 Budget: The University City <br />Special Business District held their annual meeting on June 12. The $67,450 budget <br />has changed very little from last year. The. proposed budget includes $7,000 for flowers <br />and watering, $2,500 for national marketing, $3,000 as their contribution towards <br />retiring the debt for the parking garage. All proposed expenditures are in compliance <br />with the ordinance regulating the activities of the district. There is no new IDA grant <br />money this year. Mr. Ollendorff recommends acceptance of the University City Special <br />Business District proposed budget and annual report for fiscal year 2001-2002. <br /> <br />#3 - Parkview Gardens Special Business r)istrict 2001-2002 Budget: The Parkview <br />Special Business District presents the attached balance budget for your review. The <br />$60,000 budget mirrors last year. I recommend acceptance of the proposed budget for <br />fiscal year 2001-2002. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption of the consent calendar. Mr. Munkel seconded the <br />motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA #2 - ASSESSMENT ROLL - 6900 WASHINGTON STREET IMPROVEMENT <br />AND RESOLUTION FOR SAME: <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff reported that more than 2/3 of the neighbors of the 6900 block of <br />Washington had petitioned a !/ear and a half ago to have streets repaved and curbing, <br />sidewalks and driveway approaches replaced. They also agreed to be assessed the <br />costs of these repairs and submitted the formula that they wanted the city to follow. All <br />the work has been completed and an assessment roll has been prepared and <br />distributed to the Council and mailed to the. property owners last week. The property <br />owners were invited to appear, call, write or appear this evening with any questions or <br />comments. Two property owners have pointed out two errors on the assessment roll. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
