Maplewood/Richmond Heights High School
on Thursday, May 10 from 6:30 -
8:30 p.m. We will also be meeting with Superintendent Dr. Linda Henke and
members of their School Board to discuss the planning process they used to set
goals and redirect their school district. During the past five years, our
neighboring school district has dramatically improved test scores, increased
student enrollment, and renovated or replaced some of their school buildings.
We expect it will be a most informative and inspiring meeting. If anyone is
unable to attend on this date, please contact Board Member, Ellen Bern at 721-

1841.

Olive/I-170 ramp closure
-MODOT received a proposal from Millstone Bangert
requesting permission to close two of the ramps at night to facilitate their work
and keep things on schedule. They would like to close the two northbound
ramps (both on and off) at night for 30 days. They need to do this to haul dirt
from the east side of I-170 to the west side. This action would shorten the full
time closures on the other ramps from 54 days to 40 days.

I-64 (Hwy 40) project
will disrupt transportation in this area for 2008 and 2009.
The State Dept of Transportation has a $1 million grant program that is intended
to help businesses during those years. The western half, between Spoede and I-
170 will close for one year, in 2008. The eastern half, between I-170 and
Kingshighway will close in 2009. For information on the grant program, go to
www.thenewI64.org. For your information, the I-64 Project is a $535 million
freeway reconstruction contract that will completely reconstruct I-64 from west of
Spoede Rd to east of Kingshighway, for a total of 10 miles. If you need specific
information on the details of various street closings, call the I-64 infoline at 314-
524-9191. We have also placed a link on our home page.

The Lion Pages,
a Community Development newsletter is attached for your
review.
