The first step toward implementation of the Centennial Greenway is the formal adoption of the Plan by The Great Rivers Greenway District Board. This Plan provides the framework for <br />developing the detail design of specific components of the Centennial Greenway, and in supplementary form includes recommendations for easements, land acquisition, alliances and a conceptual <br />budget. The jurisdictions through which the Centennial Greenway passes have expressed their support for the plan The implementation of the Centennial Greenway is anticipated to be accomplished <br />within a 15 to 20 year period. The phasing outlined in this section is intended to provide a general guide to the implementation schedule. It incorporates immediate Centennial Greenway <br />development opportunities, coordination with related projects proposed by other entities, and the anticipated availability of funding that is coordinated with other GRG projects. Implementation <br />will be a an ongoing process, with specific project opportunities reviewed annually by the District. The Plan outlines three phases of five year increments as a means of prioritizing <br />opportunities and projects offering the greatest impact. The initial effort in 2006 and 2007 will focus on design and engineering, with several key components of the Centennial Greenway <br />distributed throughout the project area to be <br />by participating in the planning process and will formally acknowledge the plan through written support to the District. <br />engineered to a construction ready level.
