Session 1817 <br />August 6, 2001 <br /> <br />Discussion ensued concerning Bi-State's inability to be able to acquire extra funding. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe asked if it was necessary to move on this right now. Mr. Wagner replied that <br />this needs to be done now. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner stated that we are put in a bad light when we allow Bi-State to trod on us like <br />this. What they are doing in unconscionable.. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman prepared a second resolution for possible introduction, if Bi-State would be <br />willing to move it farther away from the neighbors. Mr. Ollendorff said that he did talk to <br />Bi-State about it and it was too late in the game to make these kinds of changes. Mr. <br />Wagner said he would not have supported such a vacuous piece of text at any rate. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman stated that he does not want to embarrass the City. He only has good <br />wishes for this community. He does not want the City to be hurt in any future dealings <br />with these groups. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams reminded the Council of the recent million dollar transit grant for <br />improvements along Olive. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner requested that the word "private" be inserted between local and state in the <br />very last sentence of the resolution. <br /> <br />The resolution will be dealt with during regular session. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams adjourned the meeting at 7:28 p.m. <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br /> <br />
