Session 1818
August 6, 2001

She also suggests that a prerequisite for appointment on the Park Commission
should be that they have to visit the pool.

4)

Regarding the two year inspection proposal, Ms. Glickert believes that it is totally
unrealistic. She does think that sornething can be done along this line without
additional staff. She thinks that the City Manager could divide the City up into
about eight different sections and get the department heads out of the City Hall
and out on the street for one hour a week. This way we would have an exterior
inspection of every house in this city,. She thinks that the City believes that all
the ordinances that the City passes are enforced. They are not. She took an
example from some old minutes where Council requested a fence to built and
the lot mowed. Ms. Glickert says twenty some odd years later, the fence is still
not built and the lot is seldom mowed.

CITY CLERK'S DOCKET:

BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READING:

(postponed from 7/16/01)
BILL NO 8544 - AMENDING CHAPTER 2.64 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE,
RELATING 2.64.040 THEREOF, RELATING TO MEMBERSHIP, AND BY
REPEALING SECTION 2.64.070 THEREOF, RELATING TO CREDITABLE
SERVICE; AND ENACTING IN LI TI3 THE NONUNIFORMED EMPLOYEES
RETIREMENT SYSTEM, BY REPEALING SECTION EU THEREOF NEW
SECTIONS TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 2.64.040 MEMBERSHIP AND
SECTION 2.64.070 CREDITABLE SERVICE;" THEREBY AMENDING SAID
SECTIONS SO AS TO MAKE THE CITY MANAGER A MEMBER OF THE
RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND PROVIDE A METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE
CITY MANAGER'S CREDITABLE SERVICE.

This bill was postponed.

(postponed from 07/16/01)
BILL NO 8545 - AMENDING CHAPTER 8.28 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY
MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE;
BY REPEALING SUBSECTIONS PM-112.4.2 AND PM-202.0 OF SECTION
8.28.020 THEREOF, RELATING TO CONDITIONAL PERMITS AND GENERAL
DEFINITIONS, RESPECTIVELY, AND BY ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW
SUBSECTIONS TO BE KNOWN AS "PM-112.4.2 CONDITIONAL PERMIT,"
AND SUBSECTION "PM-202.0 GENERAL DEFINITIONS;" AND BY ENACTING
IN SECTION 8.28.020 A NEW SUBSECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "PM-112.7
RESIDENTIAL RENTAL PROPERTY;" THEREBY AMENDING SUBSECTION

13
