There is quite a lot of overgrowth in the yard, which needs to be
cleaned up. Mayor Adams referred the matter to the City Manager's staff for resolution.

Mary Ellen Havard, 7139 Cornell, is speaking for the early morning swimmers at Heman
Park. They have been able to start their swim at 6:00 a.m. each morning for the full
swim season and recently over the past few years the time has changed to 6:30 a.m.,
beginning in August, claiming it is getting darker at that time of day. This is irritating to
them because most of them are businessmen and women and need to get ready to go
to work by 6:30 a.m. She presented a petition with 37 adult swimmer signatures
petitioning for the morning swim time to be changed back to 6:00 a.m. The petition will
be forwarded to the City staff and review by the Park Commission.

CITY CLERK'S DOCKET:

BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READING:

(postponed from 07/16/01)
BILL NO 8545 - AMENDING CHAP'I'ER 8.28 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY
MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE;
BY REPEALING SUBSECTIONS PM-112.4.2 AND PM-202.0 OF SECTION
8.28.020 THEREOF, RELATING TO CONDITIONAL PERMITS AND GENERAL
DEFINITIONS, RESPECTIVELY, AND BY ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW
SUBSECTIONS TO BE KNOWN AS; "PM-112.4.2 CONDITIONAL PERMIT,"
AND SUBSECTION "PM-202.0 GENERAL DEFINITIONS;" AND BY ENACTING
