Session 1821 <br />October 8, 2001 <br /> <br />ASSESSMENT OF SPECIAL COURT COSTS, SURCHARGES, AND <br />JUDGMENTS," THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO INCREASE <br />THE CRIME VICTIMS' COMPENSATION FUND SURCHARGE, AND <br />AUTHORIZE JUDGMENTS FOR THE SPINAL CORD INJURY FUND AS <br />REQUIRED BY STATE LAW; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND <br />PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its first reading and assigned bill number 8562. <br /> <br />Responding to Mr. Munkel, Mayor Adams stated that this bill brings us into compliance <br />with state law. <br /> <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt asked the City Manager's office continue to stay on top of the <br />Canton/Midland traffic light issue. She and Mr. Sharpe attended a County Council <br />meeting and met with Charlie Dooley and the County Traffic department and they did <br />send surveyors out to the intersection shortly after. The surveyor was in agreement that <br />the lights should not have been removed. The accident rate for that area has <br />dramatically increased since the County removed the signal light. Ms. Colquitt wants <br />City staff to remain diligent on staying on the County about putting these lights back. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman presented a birthday card signed by all of the Council family and all <br />wished Mr. Sharpe a mahvelous birthday. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved to go into executive session at 8:05 p.m. to discuss legal matters <br />per RSMO 610.021 (1). Ms. Colquitt seconded the motion. The meeting will be held in <br />the Mayor's office of City Hall. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Ms. Colquitt, Mr. <br />Munkel, Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Schoomer, Mr. Sharpe and Mayor Adams. NAYS: none. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams announced that the next Council meeting was a study session scheduled <br />for 9 a.m. on October 20, 2001 and the next regular session was scheduled for Monday, <br />October 22, 2001at 7:30 p.m. The meeting a~ljo~'ned at 7:55 p.~m. ,, <br /> <br /> ~/Leisha Meine Forsythe, City Clew <br /> <br /> <br />
