Session 1821
October 8, 2001

Mr. Lieberman asked Ms. Carter how she felt the City could help her. Ms. Carter said
that she used to get information from Residential Services and they were able to target
families. She would like to continue to do this. Every child in Missouri can receive this
service, but many families are not aware of it. Mr. Sharpe suggested that she contact
him, so that he can put the information in their neighborhood association newsletter.
Mr. Munkel said that this information could be also placed in the Cityscape. He also
mentioned that the Division of Family Services should probably be sent information on
this service. Ms. Colquitt suggested that their flyer could be placed in the new resident
packets. Mr. Sharpe suggested she should contact the local media, as well.

Ms. Carter thanked everyone for their suggestions.

CITY CLERK'S DOCKET:

BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READING:

(postponed from 07/16/01)
BILL NO 8545 - AMENDING CHAPTER 8.28 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY
MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE;
BY REPEALING SUBSECTIONS PM-112.4.2 AND PM-202.0 OF SECTION
8.28.020 THEREOF, RELATING TC, CONDITIONAL PERMITS AND GENERAL
DEFINITIONS, RESPECTIVELY, AND BY ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW
SUBSECTIONS TO BE KNOWN AS; "PM-112.4.2 CONDITIONAL PERMIT,"
AND SUBSECTION "PM-202.0 GENERAL DEFINITIONS;" AND BY ENACTING
IN SECTION 8.28.020 A NEW SUBSECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "PM-112.7
RESIDENTIAL RENTAL PROPERTY;" THEREBY AMENDING SUBSECTION
PM-112.4.2 SO AS TO SHORTEN FROM NINETY (90) DAYS TO SIXTY (60)
DAYS THE PERIOD IN WHICH PREMISES SHOULD BE BROUGHT INTO
COMPLIANCE WITH THE CODE UNDER A CONDITIONAL PERMIT, ADDING
A NEW SUBSECTION ON OCCUPANCY PERMITS FOR RESIDENTIAL
RENTAL PROPERTY AND PROVIDING A DEFINITION THEREFOR;
CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.

This bill was postponed.

BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION:

1.
