Session 1823 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />October 22, 2001 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chambers <br />of City Hall on Monday, October 22, 2001, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting <br />to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council <br />were present: <br /> Ms. Cassandra Colquitt <br /> Mr. Wayne Munkel <br /> Mr. Robert Wagner <br /> Mr. Larry Lieberman <br /> Mr. Paul Schoorner <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Aisc present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel moved approval of the October 8, 2001 regular session minutes. Mr. <br />Sharpe seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT: <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman moved the appointment of William Robinson, 7319 Milan to CALOP for <br />an unexpired term ending September 9, 2004. He apologized for not having his <br />appointment materials ready for Council's review, but this gentleman just recently <br />showed up with a great deal of interest to service on CALOP and we need to fill a <br />vacancy. His application material will be forwarded when they are received. He has a <br />great deal of experience in video production and will be a great benefit to CALOP. Mr. <br />Wagner seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION - PROPERTY ASSESSMENT: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams noted that Mr. Lieberman originally authored this resolution. Mr. <br />Lieberman noted that Mr. Ollendorff prepared an alternative that eliminated the <br />possibility of the document looking as if it is attacking County officials. It is in keeping <br />with what his original intent was originally. He moves approval of the resolution. Mr. <br />Schoomer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams explained that this resolution says that the City is upset with the property <br />reassessment that was done by the County and we are asking our homeowners that <br />feel that they were unfairly treated to appeal their assessments. Mr. Ollendorff <br />commented that the City staff would be helpful in helping our citizens prepare their <br />appeals.
