The roll call went <br />as follows: AYES: Ms. Colquitt, Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Lieberman, Mr. <br />Schoomer, Mr. Sharpe and Mayor Adams. NAYS: none. Bill number 8545 was <br />defeated. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman asked if additional legislation will be needed to exact the changes <br />discussed. Mayor Adams responded that additional legislation would be needed. <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8562 - AMENDING CHAPTER 2.26 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO MUNICIPAL COURT, BY REPEALING <br />SECTION 2.26.280 THEREOF, RELATING TO ASSESSMENT OF SPECIAL <br />COURT COSTS, SURCHARGES AND JUDGMENTS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU <br />THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 2.26.280 <br />ASSESSMENT OF SPECIAL COURT COSTS, SURCHARGES, AND <br />JUDGMENTS," THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO INCREASE <br />THE CRIME VICTIMS' COMPENSATION FUND SURCHARGE, AND <br />AUTHORIZE JUDGMENTS FOR THE SPINAL CORD INJURY FUND AS <br />REQUIRED BY STATE LAW; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND <br />PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its second reading. <br />The bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Bill number 8562 <br />passed and became Ordinance number 6337. <br /> <br />BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION: <br /> <br />NONE. <br /> <br />SPECIAL COMMENDATION OF FIRE DEPARTMENT: <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel asked the City Manager to pass on his commendation to the Fire <br />Department for their continuing acts of excellence and bravery.
