MINUTES OF UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL April 30, 2007 At the Regular Council Session of the City Council of University City held in the Chambers of the City Hall, on Monday, April 30, 2007, Mayor Adams called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. In addition to Mayor Adams, the following members of the Council were present: Mr. Byron Price Mr. Robert Wagner Ms. Lynn Ricci Ms. Stefany Brot Mr. Michael Glickert Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. Also in attendance were City Manager, Ms. Julie Feier and University City High School’s student liaison, Ms. Rachel Watson. PROCLAMATION 1. Mr. Wagner moved for the introduction of a proclamation honoring David Friedman, a University City artist, whose drawing of U.City’s City Hall was being donated to the City by his daughter, Miriam. Mr. Friedman’s daughter Miriam was present for acceptance of the proclamation. A reception followed the presentation in the Rotunda. 2. Mr. Sharpe, Jr., moved for the introduction of a proclamation honoring the Silver Star Families – an organization which honors men and women wounded in the Armed Forces. 3. Ms. Brot moved for the introduction of a proclamation for Arbor Day in which University City was recognized as a Tree City by the National Arbor Day Foundation. 4. Mr. Price moved for the introduction of a proclamation for Building Safety Week, May 6 – 12. 5. Mr. Wagner moved for the introduction of a proclamation for Public Works Week, May 20 – 26. Mr. Sharpe, Jr. noted that John F. Kennedy proclaimed May as Older Adults’ month in 1963. The theme for older American month for 2007 is “older Americans making choices for a healthier future”. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The April 16, 2007, Study Session minutes with their corrections were moved for approval by Mr. Sharpe, Jr, seconded by Ms. Brot and approved unanimously. The April 16, 2007, Regular Session minutes with their corrections were moved for approval by Ms. Brot, seconded by Mr. Glickert and approved unanimously.
