Session 1839
May 6, 2002

Plan. An excellent job was done by the residents in conjunction with City staff in
preparing a series of goals and strategies for ensuring stability for this beautiful area.
Acceptance of the plan by tl~e City Council will lend encouragement to implementation
of the action items recommended in the plan.

Mr. Lieberman said that it was a very aggressive and good plan; however questioned
whether the City had the funds and manpower to support the recommendations and if
not, are there any special recommendations on going about implementing them.
Secondly, is there a timeline for progress achievements? Mr. Ollendorff said that there
was not a specific timeline. All the City's departments have reviewed these
recommendations and have agreed that they were feasible within the existing budgets.

Ms. Welsch noted that the implementation schedule was very strenuous which she
believes is good. If she read it correctly, it looks as though the Planning department
would only review it annually'. She was wondering if this could be reviewed more than
annually. She was also concerned with the items of improving tenant selection and
marketing commercial properties. She believes this should really be reviewed on a
more frequent, regular basis to assure that everyone is moving forward. Mr. Ollendorff
said that it should be just as easy to provide a six month report. Ms. Welsch said that
would be better.

Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest, said that totally supports the City's and Mayor's
community development efforts over the years and he sees this plan as a positive
continuation in the same direction. He wanted to recommend that the Council support
this plan. He said the staff, specifically Lehman Walker and Andrea Riganti, spent many
hours on this plan. The residents have been thoroughly involved in this community
driven plan.

Ms. Colquitt moved approval. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion, which carried
unanimously.

AGENDA #8 - 6363 BARTMER - SITE PLAN - WAREHOUSE BUILDING:

Mr. Ollendorff recommends approval of the site plan for an additional building in the
Warrior Building Products Company site in the Cunningham Industrial Park with
conditions including that building comply with these plans, signs in compliance with
zoning rules, installation of approved landscape plan, lighting in compliance with zoning
and compatible with surrounding areas, submission of an acceptable construction,
traffic and parking plan, screening of all electrical and mechanical equipment, provision
of appropriate dumpsters and regular litter patrol. We are pleased to see this business
expansion in our City.

David Shroeder, 1321 Weleba, wished to petition the Council to postpone any decision
on this item until he had a chance to review the plans. This property is within 150 ft of a

12
