Session 1841 MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL May 15, 2OO2 At a duly posted budget study session of the City Council of University City held in the E.O.C. Room on Wednesday, May 15, 2002, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: Mr. Wayne Munkel Mr. Robert Wagner Mr. Larry Lieberman Ms. Shelley Welsch Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. EXCUSED: Ms. Colquitt. Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. FIRE DEPARTMENT - 20.20: Mr. Ollendorff reported that this department would be phasing out one administrative chief through attrition. Mr. Munkel requested that another $1,000 be placed in 743.03 Fire Equipment for ropes and related equipment. Under 749.98 Reserve Expenditure, Mr. Ollendorff noted that the $200,000 was part of the cost of the ladder truck and would be encumbered. Mr. Ollendorff wished to inform Council of the need to make renovations to Fire House #3. He explained to Council, with help of a detailed blueprint, exactly what would need to take place. He noted that the renovation is expected to cost close to $1 million, but would need a bond to fund it. None of the costs are included in our budget, he just wanted to inform the Council of the need to do this. No other major changes in this department were reported. PUBLIC WORKS - 26.10: Mr. Ollendorff stated that there were no major changes in this budget. Responding to Mr. Munkel, Mr. Ollendorff stated that the money budgeted under 727.06, Data Processing Rentals and Charges were for increasing software needs, microfilming, CAD and GIS computer systems. Ms. Welsch wondered if all of these requests for technology purchases were included in the IT Strategic Plan. Mr. OIlendorff referred to Ms. Szymula. Ms. Szymula does not believe that all of these
