Session 1841 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />May 15, 2OO2 <br /> <br />At a duly posted budget study session of the City Council of University City held in the <br />E.O.C. Room on Wednesday, May 15, 2002, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the <br />meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the <br />Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Wayne Munkel <br />Mr. Robert Wagner <br />Mr. Larry Lieberman <br />Ms. Shelley Welsch <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />EXCUSED: Ms. Colquitt. Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT - 20.20: <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff reported that this department would be phasing out one administrative <br />chief through attrition. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel requested that another $1,000 be placed in 743.03 Fire Equipment for ropes <br />and related equipment. <br /> <br />Under 749.98 Reserve Expenditure, Mr. Ollendorff noted that the $200,000 was part of <br />the cost of the ladder truck and would be encumbered. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff wished to inform Council of the need to make renovations to Fire House <br />#3. He explained to Council, with help of a detailed blueprint, exactly what would need <br />to take place. He noted that the renovation is expected to cost close to $1 million, but <br />would need a bond to fund it. None of the costs are included in our budget, he just <br />wanted to inform the Council of the need to do this. <br /> <br />No other major changes in this department were reported. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS - 26.10: <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff stated that there were no major changes in this budget. <br /> <br />Responding to Mr. Munkel, Mr. Ollendorff stated that the money budgeted under <br />727.06, Data Processing Rentals and Charges were for increasing software needs, <br />microfilming, CAD and GIS computer systems. Ms. Welsch wondered if all of these <br />requests for technology purchases were included in the IT Strategic Plan. Mr. <br />OIlendorff referred to Ms. Szymula. Ms. Szymula does not believe that all of these <br /> <br /> <br />
