<br /> Ms. Brot’s motion to amend bill before introduction was seconded by Mr. Wagner and <br />was approved unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />L. CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />Larry Mass, 8131 Balson <br />Mr. Mass is a Ruth Park golfer. He was present to support the addition of a driving <br />range/learning center to the present golf course. <br /> <br />Steven Goldstein, 712 Swarthmore Lane <br />Mr. Goldstein wanted to show his support of the driving range/learning center. He <br />addressed the email that he sent to the Council where he listed a more detailed description <br />of his reasons for support. <br /> <br />Stanford Carp, 911 Barnard College Lane <br />Mr. Carp was in favor of the proposed driving range/learning center. He remarked about <br />the children at the golf course on Tuesdays learning how to play and how a few may <br />possibly even earn a college scholarship by playing golf. <br /> <br />Mike Molloy, 8130 Teasdale Ave. <br />Mr. Molloy believes the driving range/learning center will project a positive cash flow and <br />its up-side economic potential merits consideration from the Council. <br /> <br />Emerson Wade, 7500 Melrose <br />Mr. Wade was present to address unruly patrons at the “club” in the 7500 block of Melrose. <br /> He complained of drag racing, drinking on the lot and trash flowing onto neighboring <br />properties. Mr. Price said he would contact Mr. Wade for farther information. Mayor <br />Adams also said that he would check into it. <br /> <br />Mary Ann Zaggy, 6303 McPherson <br />Ms. Zaggy spoke of her disappointment of the City’s handling of the Heman Park Pool <br />lifeguards’ dismissals. She requested a meeting be set up with Council, lifeguard <br />representatives, and city management, where these issues could be discussed. <br /> <br />Stephen Kraft, 7275 Creveling Dr. <br />Mr. Kraft thought that the lifeguards were not properly educated about the legal and safety <br />issues of someone being injured in an un-authorized party. Secondly, management <br />mishandled the investigation. Thirdly, he stated that University City went to the media with <br />personnel issues. <br /> <br />Nick Frederiksen, 420 N. Hanley <br />Mr. Frederiksen was present to speak on the process of how the City handled the release <br />of some lifeguards. He also spoke to the possibility of the pool not being safe due to lack <br />of adequate staff after the lifeguards’ releases. <br /> <br />Rosalyn Borg, 7820 Cornell <br />D-1-f <br />August 6, 2007 <br /> <br />
