The Code Enforcement Task Force <br />Report should be reviewed for your August 20 study session with Community <br />Wayfaring Signage System <br />Development Director Lehman Walker. The or directional <br />signage proposal and Newspaper vending and News Box Staff Report will be <br />considered by the Loop Special Business District and follow-up ordinances will be <br />drafted for Council’s consideration. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the <br />recommendations, please forward me any suggestions or ideas prior to September 14. <br /> <br />University <br />In the coming months, we will be hosting an educational civic series called <br />City-Civics 101: A Refresher Course <br /> for all our Board and Commission members. <br />University City residents are also welcome to attend. There will be four sessions starting <br />at the end of August through November. The series is intended to inform our Board and <br />Commission members about the opportunities, regulations and goals of City <br />Government. Despite the current financial constraints, we hope to enhance our Board <br />and Commission members’ ability to be ambassadors to the community. The evening <br />sessions are set for Wednesday, August 29, Wednesday, September 26, Wednesday, <br />October 24 and Tuesday, November 28. Please join us in the coming months for a <br />refresher course in University City-Civics 101. <br /> <br />Wednesday, August 29, 2007 <br /> from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM I will discuss the Goals <br />? <br />and Initiatives set out by City Council during our strategic planning session the <br />previous weekend in light of the vision and recommendations of the Second <br />Century Commission. We will discuss the reality of our budgetary limitations and <br />what tools the City has at its disposal to meet those goals and initiatives. I will <br />also discuss the role Boards and Commissions play given these vision, goals, <br />and limitations. EOC Room-City Hall, basement level. <br /> <br /> <br />
