ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ORDERING THE LEVY AND FIXING THE RATE OF <br />PROPERTY TAXES TO BE COLLECTED IN THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY FOR THE YEAR 2007 TO PROVIDE FOR GENERAL REVENUE, TO <br />PROVIDE FOR POLICE AND FIREFIGHTER RETIREMENT, TO PROVIDE <br />FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF A FREE PUBLIC <br />LIBRARY AND READING ROOM, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE PAYMENT <br />OF DEBT SERVICE FOR THE GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF THE <br />CITY. <br /> <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. There is hereby levied for the year 2007 upon all real and personal property, <br />subject to taxation, in the City of University City, Missouri, the following taxes for the following <br />purposes, to wit: <br /> <br />A. For general revenue purposes a tax of $0.504 on residential property, a tax of <br />$0.540 on commercial property and a tax of $0.691 on personal property, on each <br />one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation. <br /> <br />B. For Police and Firefighter Retirement purposes a tax of $0.142 on residential <br />property, a tax of $0.154 on commercial property and a tax of $0.195 on personal <br />property, on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation. <br /> <br />C. For the establishment and maintenance of a free public library and reading room <br />authorized by vote of the qualified voters of said City at a special election <br />heretofore held, a tax of $0.220 on residential property, a tax of $0.238 on <br />commercial property and a tax of $0.301 on personal property, on each one <br />hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation. <br /> <br />D. For general obligation debt service purposes on an authorized issuance of two <br />million ($2,000,000) of municipal bonds of the City authorized by a vote of the <br />nd <br />qualified voters of said City at an election called and held on the 2 day of <br />K-2-e <br />August 20, 2007 <br /> <br />
