CITIZEN COMMENTS

Kim Loomis, 7421 Carleton
Ms. Loomis is the Director of Athletics for University City Schools. She is very thankful for
the help and cooperation she has received from Nancy MacCartney, Director of Parks and
Recreation and from Ron Akin, Golf Pro at Ruth Park. The school district has hosted
tournaments at Ruth Park and the golf course is the host for the University City School golf
teams. Ms. Loomis is working on trying to expand it to the lower level age groups in the
school district. She felt that the driving range would be of great benefit for the golf teams
and for learning by the younger children.

Karen Palmer, 7507 Washington
Ms. Palmer is supportive of a new learning center and driving range. She stated that her
son participated in the Junior Golf program and did see a need for a safer facility. Families
have told her that they would love to go to a driving range at Ruth Park as it would be safe
and family friendly. Ms. Palmer feels the driving range/learning center would increase
revenues and would fund Ruth Park Golf Park for the future.

August 20, 2007
