will take in improving student achievement and to raise the District's accreditation rating.
Currently, the District has a State accreditation score of 7 on a 14 point scale. If a
district has a score of 0-6 points in the year of the State review it will be deemed
unaccredited. If a district has a score of 7-9 in the year of the State review it will be
provisionally accredited. Districts with scores between10-14 are accredited. The
State's accreditation process is tied to the five major goals relating to student academic
performance; the retention of highly qualified staff; facilities and instructional resources;
parental and community involvement; and district governance. The District is also in
the process of selecting a community engagement firm to begin outreach into the
community for input into the CSIP. Additional public sessions will be held to gain
additional community participation, even if you are not parents of school-aged children
who attend public schools. As reflected in Second Century Commission's Report how
the public school district performs is critical for the success of our city.
