ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ORDERING THE LEVY AND FIXING THE RATE OF <br />PROPERTY TAXES TO BE COLLECTED IN THE CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY FOR THE YEAR 2007 TO PROVIDE FOR <br />GENERAL REVENUE, TO PROVIDE FOR POLICE AND <br />FIREFIGHTER RETIREMENT, TO PROVIDE FOR THE <br />ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF A FREE PUBLIC <br />LIBRARY AND READING ROOM, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE <br />PAYMENT OF DEBT SERVICE FOR THE GENERAL OBLIGATION <br />BONDS OF THE CITY. <br /> <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br />MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. There is hereby levied for the year 2007 upon all real and personal <br />property, subject to taxation, in the City of University City, Missouri, the following taxes for <br />the following purposes, to wit: <br /> <br />A. For general revenue purposes a tax of $0.511 on residential property, a tax <br />of $0.570 on commercial property and a tax of $0.691 on personal <br />property, on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation. <br /> <br />B. For Police and Firefighter Retirement purposes a tax of $0.144 on <br />residential property, a tax of $0.163 on commercial property and a tax of <br />$0.195 on personal property, on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of <br />assessed valuation. <br /> <br />C. For the establishment and maintenance of a free public library and reading <br />room authorized by vote of the qualified voters of said City at a special <br />election heretofore held, a tax of $0.223 on residential property, a tax of <br />$0.251 on commercial property and a tax of $0.301 on personal property, <br />on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation. <br />September 4, 2007 <br />J-5-e <br /> <br />
