Session 1845 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />July 1,2002 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chambers <br />of City Hall on Monday, July 1, 2002, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to <br />order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were <br />present: <br /> Ms. Cassandra Colquitt <br /> Mr. Wayne Munkel <br /> Mr. Larry Lieberman <br /> Ms. Shelley Welsch <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Excused: Mr. Robert Wagner. Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman moved approval of the June 4, 2002 special meeting minutes. Ms. <br />Welsch seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved approval of the June 17, 2002 regular session minutes. Ms. Colquitt <br />seconded the motion. The motion to approve carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR: <br /> <br /># 1- Contract Leaf Collection - October through December 2002: The Street Department <br />has requested that the options be exercised for the fiscal year with the following <br />distribution of hours be made based on the actual number of hours each contractor was <br />available to perform last fiscal year. $64,000 was budgeted for this requirement. <br /> <br /> Company <br />Hendel Lawncare <br />Top Care, Inc. <br /> <br /> Hourly Rate <br />$139.00 (330 Hours) <br />$115.00 (160 Hours) <br /> <br />Total Bid Price <br /> $45,87O.OO <br /> $18,400.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommends that an award be made to Hendel Lawncare for $45,870 <br />and Top Care, Inc. for $18,400 for a total of $64,270.00. <br /> <br />#2 - Communication Equipment Maintenance: Warner Communication provided <br />services for our communication equipment for the last fiscal year. There was a one- <br />year option on the current contract and all three departments (Police, Fire and Central <br />Garage) utilizing Warner have requested exercising the option for this fiscal year. <br />Warner proposes to offer the service for the same price as last fiscal year <br /> <br /> <br />
