Session 1849 <br />August 12, 2002 <br /> <br />#2 - Restoration of Police Sergeant Position: Mr. Ollendorff recommends authorization <br />to promote one police officer to the position of Police Sergeant due to the need for <br />added supervisory personnel in recent months. The current budget included a <br />reduction from eight to seven in the number of police sergeants. This action would <br />restore the traditional number of supervisors. The budget included adequate funds for <br />this change. <br /> <br />#3 -Two 6.3 Yard Hopper with Salt Spreader'. Bids have been received to supply two <br />hoppers and salt spreaders.. Four companies were invited to submit bids. The following <br />responses were received: <br /> <br />Midwest Systems Truck ............... $16,094.00 <br />Kranz Automotive ......................... $ 21,822.00 <br />Woody's Municipal Supply Co ...... $18,104.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommends awarding this purchase to Midwest Systems Truck for their <br />Iow bid of $16,094.00. <br /> <br />#5 - Julian Bridge Engineering: Mr. Ollendorff recommends adding $16,000 for <br />inspection and materials testing to our contract with AFRAM, the engineers for this <br />project. The state has approved this additional expenditure, which should result in 80% <br />reimbursement for the City. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch moved to remove Consent Calendar Item #4, Loop Special Business <br />District Budget to discuss. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel moved adoption of the consent calendar. Ms. Colquitt seconded the motion, <br />which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA #2- PUBLIC HEARING TO VACATE PROPERTY AT 6850 BARTMER: <br /> <br />A public hearing has been set for this time and place to hear comments on the <br />proposed vacating of street right-of-way south of Bartmer between 6850 and 6900 <br />Bartmer. This is an unimproved strip of right-of-way which was set aside for a future <br />street in case it was needed. There is no need for a street in this location and the <br />property currently serves as an access drive to these two residences. There is no <br />public need for this property. Following consideration of comments received at this <br />hearing, the City Council may introduce a bill to carry out this action. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams opened the public hearing at 7:36 p.m. <br /> <br />Being that there is no requests to speak, Mayor Adams immediately closed the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
