CITIZENS’ COMMENTS <br />Frank Reed, 1433 Midland Blvd. <br />Mr. Reed was concerned over the “No Parking Notice” posted by St. Louis County on <br />Midland between Canton Ave and Olive Blvd. He said that there would be no parking <br />available in front of his house for anyone visiting and it is now hard to get in and out of <br />his driveway. <br /> <br />Council will send letter to local representatives and to County Executive, Mr. Dooley <br />asking for adjustments be made to the no parking mandate, as some homes do not even <br />have driveways available for parking. <br /> <br />Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Ave. <br />Mr. Dockett thanked the U City Community Development Dept., the Council and <br />everyone who assisted in making the Roth Grove Neighborhood Association Flea Market <br />a success. He also commented on the success of the Sutter-Meyer farmhouse open <br />house. <br /> <br />John Buchanan, 6363 Olive Blvd. <br />Mr. Buchanan asked about the derelict commercial properties on east Olive and the <br />City’s plan for these. He will give the specific address to the City. <br /> <br />John Cross, 6847 Raymond <br />Mr. Cross was concerned about discontinuing the no sticker yard wate time period, as <br />the limited amount of street sweeping his street receives requires them to bag their <br />leaves. <br /> <br />Debra Jones, 6720 Bartmer Ave. <br />She commented on the presentation given by Public Works claiming that the prices <br />quoted were incorrect since the prices in her recently received trash bill were higher. <br />She commented on the terrible smell coming from River DesPeres in the northeast <br />corridor. Ms. Jones was in favor of the leaf pick-up by street sweepers. <br /> <br /> <br />M. COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Ms. Brot invited everyone to the opening of the trolley in Loop in Motion, October 6, from <br />12 noon – 4:00 p.m. She stated that there will be high school students acting out short <br />playlets related to the history of the trolley. Also, she thanked City Clerk for preparing <br />the packet with ease in referencing pages. Ms. Brot asked that the Ordinances of the <br />City on its web site be presented in date order with the most recent date at the top. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert stated that Ms. Ricci, Ms. Fraser, several citizens and he went to visit Mr. <br />Earls and found him to be very adamant and unwilling to make any changes in policies <br />of street closings the County developed in preparation for the future closing of Highway <br />64/40. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams gave dates of meetings coming up: Study Session on telecom settlement, <br />October 1, 5:30 pm; Council meetings October 1, 6:30 pm; Civic 101 on Ethics by Jerry <br />Bruder, 7:00 pm; presentation by St. Louis County Economic Council on Revitalizing <br />Yesterday’s Homes for Today’s Realities; at UMSL on September 25, from 1 – 4 p.m.; <br />and St. Louis County Municipal League meeting September 27, 7:30 pm. <br /> <br />
