Session 1856 <br />October 21, 2002 <br /> <br />Dalfred Blockton, 6818 Crest, stated that she has resided next door to the problem <br />property and had been complaining for 15-20 years. She said that there were three <br />generations residing at the property and that the owner also rented out rooms. She <br />complained about her ruined grass and said that the noise had been disruptive to her <br />peace of mind. She also expressed her fear of complaining out of concern for her <br />safety and desire to move from her property. She said that she believed that <br />enforcement of occupancy laws alone would bring about improvement. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff responded by promising her and Mr. Dockett that appropriate action <br />would be taken about the problems 6814 Crest presented and thanked those present <br />for bringing the matter to the City's attention. <br /> <br />Councilmember Colquitt stated that this matter had surfaced during the last two Council <br />meetings and wanted to know why there were no reports or had been no rectification. <br />She expressed the need for a meeting with Vernon Moore, the schools superintendent, <br />about truancy issues. She also stated that she wanted an explanation from inspectors <br />for the area about why their actions did not reflect the concerns of the neighbors. <br /> <br />Ms. Blockton said that the owner was on the property at all times and should be held <br />responsible for the activities there. <br /> <br />Councilmember Welsch stated that Mr. Ollendorff had already answered her questions <br />and was taking care of the problem. <br /> <br />Councilmember Wagner expressed his thanks to those who attended the Council <br />meeting that evening and asked that they continue coming.
