wayfaring signage system <br />The original report was provided on July 24. Please find an <br />updated report on wayfaring signage attached. Mr. Paul Martin, Esq., provided his legal <br />opinion regarding the proposal, after further research on this issue, Community <br />Development is still recommending proceeding with the wayfaring signs as proposed in <br />Option 2. Please consider and provide feedback so the appropriate follow up can be <br />taken. Thank you. <br /> <br />Annual Performance Report <br />On December 14, 2007, the School District received its <br />(APR) from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) <br />to provide the District with a “snapshot” review to determine how well the District is <br />performing in a non-accreditation audit year. There are five years in a cycle; the District <br />is in the second year of the fourth cycle. Accreditation is based on a 14-point scale and <br />is intended to measure the successful execution of the District’s Comprehensive School <br />Improvement Plan (CSIP). The District is currently fully accredited. The District’s <br />seven (7 <br />performance rating for the 2007 school year was at a ) with improvement in <br />many areas. The categories assessed were: <br /> <br />MSIP Standard Indicator Met/Not Met <br /> <br />1 MAP Grades 3-5 Mathematics Met <br />2 MAP Grades 3-5 Communication Arts Met <br />3 MAP Grades 6-8 Mathematics Not met <br />4 MAP Grades 6-8 Communication Arts Not Met <br />5 MAP Grades 9-11 Mathematics Not Met <br />6 MAP Grades 9-11 Communication Arts Met <br />7 ACT Not Met <br />8 Advances Courses Met <br />9 Career Education Courses Not Met <br />10 College Placement Met <br />11 Career Education Placement Met <br />12 Graduation Rate Not Met <br />13 Attendance Rate Not Met <br />14 Subgroup Achievement (AYP) Not Met <br /> <br />Every category allows for status points and progress points. The performance <br />categories 1 through 6 above, are defined as “Met” if the District meets a certain level of <br />status and progress points and has a certain number of minority students or students on <br />free or reduced lunch improve at greater levels than the state majority or state majority <br />of students not on free or reduced lunch, respectively. Bonus Achievement is awarded <br />if 4 of 6 performance standards (Category 1-6 above) show improvement in the MAP <br />Performance Index from 2006 to 2007, even if a particular category does not meet the <br />overall standard. Total performance standard indicators cannot exceed 14. Bonus <br />Achievement was awarded giving the District 7 of 14 indicators met.
