the event of a malfunction of the coin return mechanism or to report <br />damage or destruction of the news box. The distributor shall also post in a <br />conspicuous place on the news box the number of the license issued by the <br />director for the box. <br />(6) The distributor shall not place or allow to be placed <br />any advertising or publicity on the news box except the name of the <br />printed material distributed therein. <br />(7) Screening. <br />(a) Where two (2) or more distributors make <br />application for a license to place a news box at the same location on major <br />street rights-of-way, the distributors shall be required to place the news <br />boxes behind a screen as provided herein. Major streets are (i) Olive <br />Boulevard, (ii) Delmar Boulevard, between Trinity Avenue and Limit <br />Avenue, (iii) within one hundred (100) feet of the intersectionof Big Bend <br />Boulevard and Forest Park Parkway, and (iv) on any streets intersecting <br />with the above referenced streets,within one hundred (100) feet of said <br />intersection. <br />(b) News box screens shall be designed and <br />constructed by the city to reduce the negative effects of multiple news <br />boxes on the various city projects, programs, and streetscapes found on <br />and adjacent to the major streets. Screens shall be (i) the property of the <br />city and maintained by the city, (ii) three-sided with the pedestrian <br />sidewalk side open, and (iii) uniform in design throughout the city. The <br />design of the news box screen shall be approved by the City Council. <br />Section 5.100.060 License Revocation <br />A. The director may revoke a news box license may for a <br />period of time not to exceed one (1) year for any of the following <br />occurrences: <br />(1) Fraud, misrepresentation, or any false statement <br />contained in the application for a license; <br />(2) More than three (3) violations of any provision or <br />condition of the license granted to the distributor over a period of one (1) <br />or more years; or <br />(3) More than three (3) violations of any provision of <br />this chapter over a period of one (1) or more years. <br /> <br />
