Council Agenda Item Cover <br />___________________________________________________________ <br />MEETING DATE: <br /> December 3, 2007 <br />AGENDA ITEM TITLE: <br /> Ordinance Amending Chapter 8.12.220 relating to the <br />termination of service if a trash bill becomes delinquent. <br />AGENDA SECTION: <br /> New Business <br />CAN THIS ITEM BE RESCHEDULED? : <br />No <br />BACKGROUND REVIEW: <br />This Ordinance declares that if a refuse bill is delinquent the <br />city will terminate service and will only reinstate service if the delinquency is paid, or if <br />the owner enters into an approved payment plans with the director of finance and pays <br />the reinstatement fee for the cost returning the owner’s trash and recycling carts. It also <br />gives the Director of Finance discretion to waive part or all penalties and/or interest on <br />delinquencies and to adopt regulations to implement the ordinance. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approval <br /> <br />
