Session 1868 <br />February 10, 2003 <br /> <br />not forthcoming soon, <br />developed. <br /> <br />new revenue sources will have to be <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel offered a motion to adopt the Consent Calendar; seconded by Ms. <br />Colquitt, it carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM # 2 - CONSIDERATION OF REQUEST FOR SOLICITATION <br /> <br />PERMIT - JEWISH WAR VETERANS: <br /> <br />The City Manager recommended that Council approve the request from the <br />Jewish War Veterans Auxiliaries #346 and #644 for a Tag Day by volunteer <br />representatives. The Council was told that on June 4 - 6, 2003, their solicitations <br />would take place in front of businesses between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 <br />p.m. He stated that advance permission was required from each business <br />before a solicitation may take place. He also said that they planned a similar <br />campaign throughout St. Louis City and County. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff added that their application stated that the cost of raising funds in <br />the solicitation would not exceed 25% of the total amount raised. A <br />representative of the organization was present at that meeting, should the <br />Council have any questions. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel offered and Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion for approval. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman congratulated the organization for conducting their solicitation in <br />front of businesses rather than door-to door. <br /> <br />After a vote, the motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM # 3 - CONSIDERATION OF REQUEST FOR SOLICITATION <br /> <br />PERMIT - LIFE SKILLS FOUNDATIONS: <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended that Council approve a request from the Life Skills <br />Foundation to conduct a Tag Day in University City on Friday, April 25 and <br />Saturday, April 26, 2003 with volunteer representatives. He advised that <br />solicitations would take place in front of businesses between the hours of 9:00 <br />a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and that advance permission must be obtained from each <br />business before the solicitation may take place. The Life Skills Foundation also <br />planned similar activities throughout St. Louis City and County. <br /> <br />Their application stated that cost of raising funds in the solicitation would not <br />exceed 25% of the total amount raised.
