Session 1889 <br />June 23, 2003 <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS/REAPPOINTMENTS: <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved to appoint Joseph Mitchell, 8524 Richard Avenue, to serve on the <br />Library Board for an unexpired term ending June 30, 2005. Mr. Munkel seconded. The <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe then offered a motion to appoint Irene Mitchell, 8500 Richard Avenue, to the <br />Municipal Commission on Arts and Letters for an unexpired term ending January 2, <br />2004. That motion was seconded by Mr. Wagner and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />OATH OF OFFICE: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams called upon Mr. Rory Ellinger, 6925 Cornell Avenue to come forward and <br />be sworn in to serve on the Land Clearance Redevelopment Authority. The oath of <br />office was administered by the City Clerk. <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM # 1 -CONSENT CALENDAR: <br /> <br />1) Communication Equipment Annual Maintenance: Mr. Ollendorff stated that <br />invitations for bids had been issued and the following responses received: <br /> <br />St. Louis Electronics .................................... $15,438.00 <br />Warner Communications ............................. $18,863.40 <br /> <br />He recommended awarding the contract for maintenance service to St. Louis <br />Electronics for their Iow bid of $15,438.00. <br /> <br />2) Street Maintenance - Crack Sealin.q: The City Manager reported the tabulation of bid <br />proposals for the above named project as follows: <br /> <br />1. B&D Pavement Maintenance ........ $78,720.00 <br />2. McConnell & Associates Corp ...... $159,900.00 <br />3. Engineers Estimate ..................... $68,880.00 <br /> <br />He noted that the project has been included in the FY 03-04 budget year and <br />recommended that the project be awarded to B&D Pavement Maintenance for their bid <br />of $78,720.00. <br /> <br />He advised Council that B & D Pavement Maintenance was female owned and had <br />performed crack sealing in University City in fall 2002, promptly and professionally. <br /> <br />3) Picnic Beer and Wine License for U. City Loop in Motion Festival: Mr. Ollendorff <br />recommended approval of the annual picnic liquor license for the University City Loop <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
