Ensure that parks and facilities serve all age groups.” Park Service Area Include recommendations/references to Heman Park Pool and Ruth Park o Golf Course such as: “Continue to maintain and improve Heman Park Pool and Ruth Park Golf Course to ensure maximum usage.”; “ Explore capital improvement financing for park and facility improvements”; “Building on previous studies, consider the development and construction of a state of the art indoor pool facility” Community Planning Add “Increase efforts and funding for recreational programs to include o additional opportunities for teens and intergenerational activities; expand summer camp programs”; “Explore programming partnerships with Wash U, the University City School District and other agencies”; . In the section relating to survey – do not identify who conducts the survey o and change to “The City shall…” Delete the sentence beginning with “Opportunities identified through…” o Create an Environmental Sustainability subsection and add the following: Encourage private developments and redevelopment/alterations to consider o renewable energy practices Review the zoning code to ensure it permits/encourages renewable energy o structures (i.e. solar panels) Review the building code to ensure it permits/encourage renewable building o practices Continue to encourage recycling/expand programs and partnerships to deal with o municipal waste in an environmental sensitive manner Explore partnerships with Wash U for education, programs and physical o improvements in the areas of energy and sustainability.
