U City Boards and Commissions will review and integrate the Sustainability Strategic Plan (adopted <br />by the City Council/2010 http://apps.ucitymo.org/PublicPortal/Browse.aspx?startid=1) into their <br />own planning processes. <br />Revise Building & Zoning codes to align with sustainable design and practices (e.g., Transit Oriented <br />Development practices should be incorporated in the Building and Zoning codes, free standing solar <br />systems should be encouraged within the code). <br /> <br />Sustainability <br />The following cited resolutions and ordinances to be referenced in the document at least as part of an <br />Appendix. <br />Comments regarding sustainability: <br /> <br />It is imperative that we follow the global belief that sustainability and environmental stewardship is <br />crucial in every aspect of planning for University City’s future. <br /> <br />The GPC created a sustainability plan that was last formally updated in 2012 (see attached) that should <br />be incorporated into the Comprehensive Plan – not in a single statement but throughout the document. <br /> <br />The City has also adopted the following ordinances and resolutions pertaining specifically to energy <br />efficiency and sustainability: <br />Ordinance 6956 – Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy <br />Ordinance 6937 – Energy Conservation Code <br />Resolution 2009-18 – Resolution of the City of University City for Community Sustainability. <br />Resolution 2014-41 <br />Resolution 2014-35 <br />Resolution 2014-1 <br />Resolution 2013-19 <br />Resolution 2010 – 13 <br />Resolution 2009-21 <br />Resolution 062705 <br />In addition, a new ordinance that has not been posted yet was passed in support of PACE – Property <br />Assessed Clean Energy. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />
