Residential Vision <br /> <br /> <br />2. <br />bĻźŭŷĬƚƩŷƚƚķ /ŷğƩğĭƷĻƩ ğƓķ LƓŅźƌƌ 5ĻǝĻƌƚƦƒĻƓƷ <br /> <br />Goal: Retain and enhance neighborhood character through preserving existing structures, actively <br />fighting blight, creating smaller green spaces and ensuring residents of all ages have housing options. <br /> <br />Promote and communicate the master land use plan of the city as the guide for development <br /> <br />elucidate historic and develop neighborhood amenities (i.e., infill <br /> <br />gardens, sculpture gardens, historic street signs, historic markers in their local park, plaques on <br /> <br />historic buildings) that celebrate their unique <br /> <br />implement controls for supporting resident-friendly infill development <br /> <br />assist neighborhoods in marketing their unique character; proximity to shopping; and age, race, <br /> <br />and ethnic diversity, to prospective renters and homeowners, driving growth and housing <br /> <br />demand <br /> <br />incentivize investment in neighborhoods that matches their current character <br /> <br /> <br />3. <br />aǒƌƷźΏCğƒźƌǤ ğƓķ aźǣĻķΏ ƭĻ 5ĻǝĻƌƚƦƒĻƓƷ <br /> <br />Goal: Encourage the development of multi-family and multi-use occupancy to diversify neighborhoods <br />socio-economically, by age, ethnicity, and race; and support imbedded commercial enterprises, where <br />appropriate. <br />hƌźǝĻ .ƌǝķʹ <br />use mixed-use (commercial/residential) development as a corner stone for creatively <br /> <br /> <br />redeveloping the Olive Corridor <br />increase residential density on Olive with mixed-use and multifamily development at nodal <br /> <br /> <br />points along the Corridor <br />transform old commercial spaces on Olive into creative co-working/incubation/artistic spaces <br /> <br /> <br />that can be programmed around the clock and include residences <br />promote mixed-income multi-family housing development in all areas of the city, where <br /> <br />appropriate. A mix of high, middle and low-incomes within a development complex is preferred, <br />while supporting quality housing citywide. Non-elderly multifamily development with more than <br /> <br />20% low-income designated units should be avoided in Ward 3 and along the Olive Corridor. <br />assure that multifamily development respects the residential character of the neighborhood <br /> <br /> <br />where they are located <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
