Review its Green Building practices with an eye to incorporating guidelines and <br />components of LEED and Energy Star, as appropriate, in developing sustainable <br />operations and maintenance practices for existing buildings and facilities. <br />U City Boards and Commissions will review and integrate the Sustainability <br />Strategic Plan (adopted by the City <br />Council/2010http://apps.ucitymo.org/PublicPortal/Browse.aspx?startid=1) into <br />their own planning processes. <br />Revise building and zoning codes to align with sustainable design and practices <br />(e.g., Transit Oriented Development practices should be incorporated in the <br />Building and Zoning codes, free standing solar systems should be encouraged <br />within the code). <br />Land Use and Development Plan <br />th <br />On page 29 add to the 7goal the phrase “with proximity to public transit.” <br />Page 32 –Edit Equity section to include language from Guiding Principles on inclusion <br />and economic integration in all neighborhoods. <br />Page 34: Add language that commits to targeted investment in the areas circled in <br />yellow for equity and neighborhood regenerationreasons. <br />Re-title ‘Housing Maintenance” to “Neighborhood Vitality” <br />Integrate language in the housing section that commits to encouraging people who live <br />in flood plains to move and providing city support and incentives to enable them to <br />move for health, equity and justice reasons. <br />Olive Boulevard Subarea Plan <br />Page 43: Plan should admit that this area has received historical under-investment as a <br />legacy of the Olive Street Divide, which will be addressed by adopting the racial equity <br />lens. The racial equity lens should be cited as compelling reason to create investment in <br />Olive andneighborhoodsimmediately adjacent on both sides. <br />Create specific goals based on this language that must be added to the plan. <br />Transportation & Mobility <br />adjacent <br />Add language about working withcommunities to improve safety and security <br />around the Wellston Metrolink station to improve usage and accessibility for the local U <br />community <br />City. <br />Add language about consciously enhancing access points between U City <br />neighborhoods and transit. <br />Page 5 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
