Session 1893 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />August4,2003 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council <br />Chambers of City Hall, on Monday, August 4, 2003, Mayor Joseph Adams called <br />the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following <br />members of Council were present: <br /> <br />Ms. Cassandra Colquitt <br />Mr. Robert Wagner <br />Mr. Larry Lieberman <br />Ms. Shelley Welsch <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also present was the City Manager, Mr. Frank Ollendorff. EXCUSED: Mr. <br />Wayne Munkel. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch moved to approve the Minutes of the June 23, 2003 meeting. His <br />motion was seconded by Mr. Sharpe and was passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved to approve the Minutes of the July 1, 2003 meeting. His <br />motion was seconded by Mr. Wagner and passed unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM # 1 -CONSENT CALENDAR: <br /> <br />Installation of Tension Cables at Transfer Station: The above project was <br />advertised for bids twice, once in March and again in April. Both times no bids <br />were received. Then in May after calling firms and searching for a firm who <br />would provide a proposal for this project the Public Works staff finally obtained <br />one proposal from Midwest Trenching & Excavating, Inc. for a lump sum amount <br />or $51,740. <br /> <br />Mr. Ottendorff recommends that this project be awarded to Midwest Trenchin8 <br />Et Excavatins, Inc, for 551,740. The consuttin8 ensineer advises that this is a <br />fair price. <br /> <br />The A.M. Best's ratin8 for the surety company to be used by Midwest Trenchin8 <br />Et Excavatins, Inc. is "A". Midwest Trenchin8 Et Excavatins, Inc. is a certified <br />disadvantased/women Owned Business Enterprise. <br /> <br /> <br />
