<br /> <br />Economic Development Retail Sales Tax Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />August 17, 2017, 4:00 p.m. <br />Approved November 16, 2017 <br /> <br />The Economic Development Retail Sales Tax Board (EDRSTB) held a meeting at the Heman Park Community <br />Center located at 975 Pennsylvania, University City, Missouri. The meeting commenced at 4:13 p.m. <br /> <br />Voting Members Present <br />Raheem Adegboye <br />Kristine Hendrix (arrived at 4:30 p.m.) <br />Robert Kuhlman <br />Brendan O’Brien <br />Robyn Williams <br /> <br />Voting Members Absent <br />Mark Winer, Chair <br />Tracy Gritsenko <br /> <br />Non-Voting Ex-Officio Members Present <br />Shelley Welsch, Mayor <br />Boo McLaughlin, LSBD <br /> <br />Non-Voting Ex-Officio Members Absent <br />Max Tsai, Chamber of Commerce <br /> <br />Staff Present <br /> <br />Andrea Riganti, Director of Community Development <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Meeting was called to order at 4:13 p.m. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />The minutes from the May 18, 2017 meeting were reviewed, with one a correction to reflect that Mr. Kuhlman <br />was not present at that meeting. With the correction, the meeting minutes were approved unanimously. <br /> <br />Old Business <br />None <br /> <br />New Business <br />a. Ms. Riganti indicated that the Chamber of Commerce is present today to discuss a new request for FY18 <br />Economic Development Retail Sales Tax (EDRST) funds. For background, Ms. Riganti reported that the <br />FY18 citywide budget was adopted by City Council on June 26, 2017. At this meeting, City Council <br />amended the budget to remove $50,000 that the EDRSTB recommended for the Chamber of Commerce <br />project for city-wide marketing, with the understanding that the Chamber’s funding request be referred <br />back to City Council during the first quarter of FY18. <br /> <br />Since that time, the Chamber of Commerce has revised the application as per City Council request. Ms. <br />Mary Adams, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, 7700 Olive Boulevard, presented the <br />revised request. The Chamber of Commerce is requesting $50,000 in EDRST funds to develop and <br />implement advertising and marketing initiatives to promote businesses throughout University City. The <br />marketing plan and initiatives include visual advertising, ad-marketing, print and digital campaigns and <br />social media marketing.
