Two of those discussions involved the Senior Services Coordinator; who received lots of <br />accolades for the work being performed, and Andrea Riganti, Director of Community <br />Development, who expressed the need for an additional staff member. Therefore, based <br />on the understanding that the position of Senior Services Coordinator has already been <br />adequately funded, he would like to make a motion to amend the budget by removing <br />$15,000 previously allocated for professional services in the Department of Community <br />Development's budget to help offset the cost of adding a new employee. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilmember Carrand the motion carried unanimously. <br />Citizen's Comments <br />Joe Edwards, 6504 Delmar, University City, MO <br />Mr. Edwards stated staff has done a very thorough analysis of the projects they deemed <br />worthy of funding and as a result,would ask Council to consider The Loop's requests for <br />funding as recommended by the EDRST Commission. He also asked Council if they <br />would give consideration to the Board's recommendation for lighting and a welcome sign. <br />Council's Comments <br />CouncilmemberCrow made a motion to amend the Solid Waste Operation Fund by <br />removing $40,000 from maintenance contracts; $165,000 from temporary labor, and <br />adding $80,000 to Solid Waste Operations for the purpose of hiring four part-time <br />employees. The motion was seconded by CouncilmemberSmotherson and the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />CouncilmemberCrow made a motion to amend the Park and Stormwater Sales Tax Fund <br />by transferring $110,000 from the Mona Drive Stream/Bank Stabilizationto the Capital <br />Improvement Sales Tax Fund. The motion was seconded by CouncilmemberJennings <br />and the motion carried unanimously. <br />CouncilmemberCrow made a motion to amend the legislative budget for City Council by <br />transferring $2,000 allocated for furniture to the funds set aside for wages to compensate <br />the Senior ServicesCoordinator. The motion was seconded by CouncilmemberJennings <br />and the motion carried unanimously. <br />CouncilmemberCrow made a motion to amend the Mayor's and City Council's Travel <br />Fund by transferring $9,000 to the funds set aside for wages to compensate the Senior <br />Services Coordinator. The motion was seconded by CouncilmemberJennings and the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Per recommendationof the City Manager, CouncilmemberCrow made a motion to amend <br />by removing$24,000 from the Consulting Services for Economic Development. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilmember Carrand the motion carried unanimously. <br />CouncilmemberCrow made a motion to amend by removing$25,000 from the City <br />Manager's marketing budget. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Carrand the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />CouncilmemberCrow made a motion to amend by adding a $10,000 line item for the <br />purpose of hiring a flood and stormwater improvement consultant.
