This additional one-quarter cent <br />sales tax would generate approximately $570,000 and must be used solely for long- <br />term economic development such as acquisition of land, building of infrastructure or <br />extension of streets, providing matching dollars for grants, marketing, or offering grants <br />for certain development activities. A maximum of 25% of funds may be used for <br />administrative costs. <br /> <br />Local Option Sales Tax <br />The other one-quarter cent sales tax available to us is a , <br />which would generate approximately $480,000 and could be used for any general <br />municipal purpose. Sections 72.400-72.423 of the Revised Missouri Statutes dictate <br />the authority and activities of the Boundary Commission. A description of the <br />commission's function, the proposal cycle, map plans and the various types of <br />proposals that the commission may hear are included as an attachment. The Boundary <br />Commission announced that Ed Thibeault of Wildwood recently resigned from the <br />Boundary Commission. He is one of two representatives of cities with populations over <br />20,000. The other is Christine Bredenkoetter of Florissant.
