It will feature the work premiere of “ A Love Supreme” by Barbara <br />Harbach, based on a poem by Cheryl Walker and performed by the SLWC and the <br />nd <br />Equinox Chamber Players. The night before (May 2), the SLWC will perform at <br />Bonhomme Presbyterian Church, 14820 Conway Road in Chesterfield featuring the <br />world premiere of “Seasons of Singing” by Gay Holmes Spears. Tickets are $20 for <br />adults; $18 for seniors and $15 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door of <br />either event or online at www.stlwomenschorale.org. The SLWC is not a religious <br />organization. <br /> <br />CORP <br />Today, St. Louis County (County Older Resident Programs) presented the City <br />outstanding service award <br />of University City with an for its efforts in recruitment of <br />volunteers through the media (Cityscape, Billboards, the Weekly, posters, employee <br />incentives and contact with citizens). As you know, the City partially funded CORP in <br />FY08 to assist them in increasing their presence here. CORP utilizes citizen volunteers <br />to drive seniors to their non-emergency medical appointments. The service is free to <br />residents. Through these volunteers and other programs offered by CORP many <br />seniors are able to stay in their own homes. And, for volunteers, it is a very rewarding <br />Kelli Watkins <br />experience, just ask (Public Works) one of our fabulous employee <br />volunteers. Volunteers receive mileage reimbursement and are covered by the County’s <br />excess liability insurance. Volunteers must apply, have a valid driver’s license, have <br />auto insurance and are background checked by the St. Louis County Police. City <br />employees are entitled to accumulate their wellness hours over a two-week period to <br />drive seniors to their appointments. Tables for 8 are $160, or come by yourself and meet new <br />friends. An individual admission is $20. Prizes, great food, and fun are promised. Trivia <br />Night is a fundraiser to support Friends’ programs for the library. There will be a $200 <br />cash prize for the winning table as well as 10 non-monetary prizes for tables winning the <br />quick-answer competitions held while results from each round are tallied.
