Ms. Watson supplied a chart with the history from 1999 to 2008, of the CDBG allocations
which were categorized as follows:

CODE ENFORCEMENT
PUBLIC SERVICE
Food for the Homeless
Police
Scholarships
REHABILITATION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY
Home Rehabilitation Administration
Private Property Rehabilitation
STREET IMPROVEMENTS
Streets, Sidewalks and Alleys
Tree Removal/Planting

Mr. Glickert asked Ms. Watson for the historical tracking on the "scholarship" category. He
would like to know what kind of scholarship was being offered and the history of the
recipients.

Mr. Price asked Ms. Watson for the amount that was allocated for streets and sidewalks.
He felt that if the amount was not large enough to do anything of notable significance, it
would be better in another area.

Food for the Homeless at Mt. Gideon had not qualified under the CDBG guidelines last
year, so a $4,000 line item was added to the General Fund budget for FY 08. This will be
discussed in the Budget Study sessions this year for the FY 09.

Mr. Price asked for additional explanation and history in areas as Code Enforcement and
Police.

Council also requested a history of the Home Improvement loan program of University City
for those with low income. They had a concern that the program usually did not have any
available funds.
