be turned away and was seconded by Mr. Sharpe, Jr. The CDBG was approved
unanimously.
CITIZEN COMMENTS
Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Ave.
Mr. Dockett is pleased with the allocation of $1,000 for the Sutter Meyer House
located in the “northeast area, the cradle of civilization.”
Mr. Wagner wanted to know what the $1,000 would be used for by the Sutter
Meyer house. Mayor Adams said that Ms. Brot as spokesman for the Sutter
Meyer Society had asked for $1,000 for replacement windows and tuck pointing
at the last Public Hearing. The motion now states that $1.000 be reallocated for the
scholarship fund to be used for replacement windows and tuck pointing on the
Sutter Meyer house with the understanding that no scholarship applications be
turned away. The CDBG for 2009 was passed unanimously with the one change
of moving $1,000 from the Scholarships allocation to a new line item, replacing
windows and tuck pointing on the historical Sutter Meyer house.
3.
Missouri Department of Public Transportation (MoDOT) agreement for
Emergency Signal Pre-emption. This comprehensive system was installed and
paid for by MoDOT for the purpose of allowing emergency vehicles to change the
traffic signals to allow for better response times to emergencies due to the I-
64/40 shutdown. Mr. Price moved for approval, seconded by Mr. Crow and was
approved unanimously.
4.
Conditional Use Permit Amendment for 7290 Olive 1166 Midland (and 7270
Olive) – Amerco Real Estate Company, dba U-Haul. This would allow expansion
of U-Haul’s parking lot. Approval was recommended by Community
Development staff and the Plan Commission. Mr. Glickert moved for approval,
seconded by Mr. Crow and was approved unanimously.
5.
Approval of Site Plan Review Permit application for 8041 Olive – Olive Farmers’
Market building expansion. The expansion will include nine new retail units.
Community Development staff recommends approval with conditions. Mr. Price
moved for approval, seconded by Mr. Wagner and was approved unanimously.
6.
Automated Recycling Marketing Plan
Ms. Shields-Benford, Director of Public Works, gave a presentation on Recycling
Public Education Campaign for the promotion of Singe-stream recycling.
