Here are some great volunteer opportunities; some are long term, some <br />short term. Did you know that volunteering makes people happier? So, let’s keep U <br />City the great place it is: volunteer a bit of your time to: <br /> <br />Lutheran Senior Services Volunteer Money Management <br /> <br />, which is an interfaith partnership with Jewish <br />Program <br />Family & Children’s Services, is looking for volunteers 21 <br />years and older to provide individualized, in-home money <br />management assistance for older adults 60 years and older or <br />adults 50 years and older with a disability living in University City and the <br />surrounding area. Volunteers help sort, organize, and record monthly bills and <br />statements, reconcile monthly bank statements, and balance checkbooks. Two <br />hours a month is needed to help an older adult remain independent in your <br />community. This is a United Way funded program. If you are interested in <br />volunteering, please call Cassandra at (314) 446-2523. <br /> <br />On Saturday, August 2 <br /> <br />- <br />University City School District Back to School Rally <br />from 10 am to 2 pm the District will hold its 2 Annual Back to School Rally at <br />nd <br />Jackson Park School. There will be free immunizations, haircuts, book bags, and <br />school supplies. You can register your child or find out how to go about doing it. <br />The City will have information on recycling and the importance to the <br />community. Restoration activities, <br />including invasive species removal, native plant propagation, weeding, and <br />watering occur throughout the year.
