<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Ms. Watson will continue discussions with surrounding municipalities in an attempt to <br />consolidate independent fire departments. It was suggested in order to consolidate <br /> <br />Independent cities a study would be needed at the expense of $20,000 per city. The Cities <br />in discussion are Olivette, Clayton, Richmond Heights, and Maplewood. <br /> <br />Mr. Price stated the money allocated in the CDBG fund for street improvement would not <br />cover much of anything and suggested it be taken from utility tax. Mr. Price also wanted <br />the record to reflect that he is not in favor of additional meters in the Loop area on City lots. <br />He also asked for $3,000 be put in the budget for Mt. Gideon feed the homeless and <br />transfer the $3,700 for the Senior Service Pantry to Mid-East Area on Aging. Mr. Price <br />also asked to have the $5,000 money assigned to Code Enforcement in the CDBG <br />transferred to the program for Senior Home Improvement fund. <br /> <br />Mr. Price was excused at 8:10 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner asked that $20,000 be appropriated in the Legislative budget for Council’s <br />discretion to determine if a consultant be engaged to report directly to the Council on <br />improving and streamlining the main garage functions. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe, Jr. asked that the rent not be raised at Heman Center for the Seniors. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow asked to have Ms. Watson check into the $750 charge for the band stand use. <br /> <br />Captain B. Moore, a representative from University City Fire Department, spoke for their <br />department asking to return the three jobs that were eliminated in the last workforce <br />reduction. He spoke of their force losing many skilled firemen to districts that can offer <br />more.
