<br />Ms. Glickert, 6712 Etzel <br />Ms. Glickert said her relative had just moved into University City recently and did not <br />receive a guest packet with the free passes to the pool and golf course. She asked Ms. <br />Watson to give Council a sample of the “welcome packet” that new residents are to <br />receive. Secondly she asked Ms. Watson to look into any directors not living in <br />University City and give a report to Council with this information. <br /> <br />Mr. Price asked for a goal to be established as to increasing membership of Centennial <br />Commons by advertisement and promotions. He also spoke of the importance of <br />informing residents of all the advantages of recycling and how the City will profit from it. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner stated the City needs to move immediately to get tax issues, both property <br />and sales taxes, on the November ballot. He agreed to the importance of recycling as it <br />could be a good revenue source for the City. Mr. Wagner also felt the expense <br />associated with fleet management could be reduced with good management. Mr. <br />Wagner emphasized that he wanted this study to be under the direction of the Council. <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci confirmed with the Deputy City Manager that the City would no longer let bill <br />delinquencies pile up as in refuse, parking violations, license fee, nuisance fees and <br />traffic fines, as this previously had amounted to over one million dollars. <br /> <br />Public Budget Hearing was closed at 8:45 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />H. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT <br />1. <br />Liquor License Request – Winslow Liquor request, by the drink, 7213 Delmar <br />Mr. Price moved for approval, seconded by Mr. Sharpe, Jr. and was approved <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />2. <br />Orchard Development – the development of the Trianon which is property <br />owned both by University City and the City of Clayton. Both cities have <br />approved the zoning. Orchard Development is looking for q quick decision in <br />order to begin the development and asked the reading on June be introduced as <br />an emergency. Mr. Wagner moved to approve an emergency bill at next Council <br />session, was seconded by Mr. Price and was approved unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />J. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />K. NEW BUSINESS <br />All New Business bills to be introduced were pulled for further Council discussion. <br />Any budget concerning bills will need to be introduced as emergency readings at the <br />Council June 23, 2008 session.. <br />BILLS <br />1. Business mileage rate for personal vehicles <br />2. Compensation to be paid to City officials and employees <br />3. Compensation to be paid to the Fire Captains and Firefighters. <br /> <br />
