L. CITIZENS’ COMMENTS
Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Ave
Mr. Dockett asked if there was a plan to hire an economic developer as he felt the
Economic Development department was doing a great job. Ms. Watson said there
were no current plans and was not in the FY 09 budget.

Anne Marie Kiddon, 7348 Wellington Ave.
Ms. Kiddon asked if the minutes from the Council meetings could be available at the
Commons. She agreed that the door knob solicitation for encouraging recycling was
the best idea. Ms. Kiddon suggested that it could be done quarterly with the door
hangers. One side to say what can be recycled as a reminder and the other side
stating how much it has been in savings so far to the City. Ms. Kiddon reminded Mr.
Price that he represented all the residents in University City. She felt that the
concern should be first the fear of losing residents, if the City keeps raising its taxes.
Ms. Kiddon said that if the City was strong and balanced, it would attract good
people to work here rather than just because of its compensation. She
complimented Ms. Ricci on her due diligence, for all the citizens. Ms. Kiddon
recommended fellow councilmember apologize for personal accusations toward Ms.
Ricci.

Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel
Ms. Glickert stated that the Charter needs to get into more hands, possibly all
members on boards or commissions be given a copy. She thanked Councilmember.
Ricci and Councilmember Wagner for all their research. Ms. Glickert expressed her
concern of the Fire Chief using City vehicle to travel to and from home. Ms. Glickert
said that there is an ordinance stating he is to be a resident of University City for his
position. She also requested that the Heman Park Pool would not close early this
summer. She stated her dissatisfaction with the female guards’ swimsuits this year.

M. COUNCIL COMMENTS
Mr. Sharpe, Jr. thanked Ms. Watson for her diligence on the Council Chamber’s
shades and wanted to know how soon.

Mr. Crow said that there have been lengthy conversations on the compensation plan
and the message is out for the administration to begin deliberation on a variety of
fronts as health insurance and merit raises. He can see a couple more added to it
as where the turnovers are occurring and more information concerning the Civil
Service Board as Ms. Ricci had addressed.

Mayor Adams stated that the Council will not go into an Executive session as Ms.
Ricci was excused early.

Joyce Pumm, City Clerk
