This legislation authorizes <br />that municipalities reimburse St. Louis County for a one-time booking fee of $30.00'in <br />addition to the current payment of $30.00 per day for each inmate housed at the Justice <br />Center. In addition, the cost to municipalities for inmates requiring infirmary care has <br />been increased from $135.00 per day to $300.00 per day. <br /> <br />The costs to municipalities to house inmates at the Justice Center have remained the same <br />['or the past five years. The addition ora one-time booking fee and the increased <br />infirmary costs reflect the increase in operational costs to book and house inmates: The <br />Department of Justice Services will continue to work closely with each municipality to <br />reduce the occasions requiring the payment of infirmary or hospital costs. <br /> <br />The Guidelines for the Incarceration of Municipal Inmates and two original Contract for <br />Housing of Municipal Inmates are enclosed. <br /> <br />Please sign the enclosed contracts and indicate your Municipality Ordinance/Resolution <br />No. on the front page.
